IMPORTANT
NOTICE
Some of you may be aware that Network Rail erected a new fence at
the “Cabbage Patch” Limpley Stoke, in doing so the normal
access way has been fenced in. Hopefully within the next few weeks
the fence will be replaced with a gate, which will alleviate any
problems. We apologise to our permit holders for the present inconvenience.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Plans are well ahead to carry out major maintenance work at Tockenham
Reservior when the weather improves and it may mean the closure
of the Lake for a short period. Notices will be displayed when works
will commence.

Floods
With the snow melting thoughts of fishing our rivers has been far from
our minds. If you wanted to fish the upper or lower reaches of the Avon
then even getting near the river has been a problem. Look at our news
page to see pictures of Limpley Stoke in full flood....and the problems
you faced there on 11th Feb 2009.
With the thaw well on its way, perhaps now is the time to visit our prolific
lake venues?
Tockenham
hosts a World Champion
Callum Dicks, the son of the owner of Bristol Angling Centre, chooses
Tockenham to show off his angling skills to a National Angling Magazine.
Callum is now the under 22 world champion after his match winning performances
in matches held in Belgium on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th July 2008.
An outstanding result and we would like to offer him our congratulations.
The picture was taken by George Waite (our chairman) while Callum was
fishing at Tockenham for the benefit of 'Totally Coarse Fishing'. The
feature article should be out in August. The cameraman standing next to
Callum is the magazine professional.

Goodhind
1) Nicky Goodhind Amalgamated Fisheries 17lb 12oz of small roach and skimmers
all on bread.
2) Mike Goodhind Amalgamated Fisheries 10lb 14oz of roach and skimmers
on bread.
3) Andy Britt Bathampton 10lb 07oz
4) Darren Gilman Bathampton 10lb 02oz
5) Paul Haines BAC
6) Dave Haines Amalgamated Fisheries
7) Rich Lacey Amalgamated Fisheries
Andy reckons that 17lb 12oz is the 2nd top weight anyone has recorded
on a match on the canal of small fish.
I think we all did rather well, I personlly had a brilliant days fishing,
I had 195 fish, it was magic, I did not even put anything but bread on
my hook. I love the canal, wish all the matches were on canals.
Congratulations
to Tim Ford (shown below) of the Amalgamated Fisheries Team on winning
the Bristol & West Federation Poppy Match. He had a magnificent weight
of 61 lbs consisting of roach and bream. Tim you are having a wonderful
season. Tim must think he owns this match as he has won
it twice before.

NEW
LEAGUE INDIVIDUAL RECORD ESTABLISHED AT TOCKENHAM RESERVOIR
A
new Avon League individual record was established at Tockenham Reservoir
on Sunday 6th July 2008. Fishing for Bacons Tackle Team Paul Barnfield
took 91lbs 15oz of quality Bream on quivertipped mini boilies from the
point swim in section E on what was a very wet, blustery and uncomfortable
day for the 60 contestants. The weight was a new league individual record
beating the Bream Bag of 91lbs 0oz taken seven years ago on the River
Avon at Avoncliffe.

drivers of tall vans turning up at Tockenham Resevoir remember that the
