Help the Heroes Match - Tockenham Resevoir Sunday 27th June

Members of the Amalgamated Fisheries Ltd organiseds a blind pairs fishing match at Tockenham Reservoir in Wiltshire on Sunday 27th June. There were 22 anglers taking part and we added an extra £2 to each ticket in aid of Help for Heroes, plus Amalgamated Fisheries Ltd very kindly donated their £4 peg fee for each person to the cause. Therefore I am pleased to say that we have raised £132 for Help for Heroes.

Results of the pairs match held at Tockenham on Sunday the 7th June 2009

It was a bit disappointing as lots of people backed out either because of illness or going to other matches. In the end only 12 fished.
Despite the weater forcast being awful we actually had very little rain just the odd spots. The rain waited until we finished the match. We had quite bright sunshine at times.
The top 3 weights all came from the left hand bank, the dam wall did not really produce. Paul Barnfield won the match individually fishing a feeder with mini boiles and hair rigged strawberry pellets at 50-60 meters. He was peg 5 which was about half way up the left hand bank. He had a good bag of Bream to 3lb and a carp of about 5lb . Les Williams was on peg 7, which about 3/4 of the way up the left hand bank and he fished a waggler up in the water with maggot on the hook for a fantastic catch of 29 Bream & Skimmers plus a 3lb tench. Andy Britt (Bathampton Avon Aquatics) who was on peg 2 just up from opposite the point on the left hand bank, fished a feeder at 40 meters with groundbait and double or triple maggots for his weight of 26lb 5oz, which consisted of Skimmers & Bream from 4oz - 4lb each. Brian Paul with 17lb 14oz of Skimmers was the top weight from the dam wall.
